Telangana Regulated Crop Policy taking a toll on State economy: BJP
Hyderabad: BJP senior leader P Muralidhar Rao accused the TRS government led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of destroying the agriculture sector in Telangana. Addressing the media here on Thursday, he pointed out that six decisions taken by the KCR's government were letting down the State and the farmers.
He called the 'Regulated Crop Policy' launched by the State government a flawed policy and his party was ready for a debate on the same with any agriculture scientist and economists, he added. Further non-implementation of the Prime Minister's Fasal Bhima Yojana in Telangana and faulty regulated farming were taking a toll on the economy of the State, he charged.
That apart, lack of vice-chancellors and board of studies to three universities of agriculture and allied studies has left the State to fall below the other States in the agricultural research rankings, he said. Muralidhar Rao said the State government's failure in implementing the farm loan waiver scheme has caused irreparable loss to the farmers.
He said the BJP government in Karnataka has brought a stringent law against the cow slaughter and taking proactive steps. Telangana should also bring a similar law, he demanded.
