Telangana set to disburse 5,000 crore to farmers under Rythu Bandhu Scheme
Hyderabad: State Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy said that so far the State government has transferred Rs 5,500 crore for disbursal among the farmers for the rainy agriculture season under Rythu Bandhu Scheme (RBS).
Thanking Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for the release of funds here on Monday, he said another Rs 1,500 crore would be released soon. The Minister said that the release of funds for RBS at a time when the State is facing financial difficulties reflects that farmers and agriculture are top on the agenda of the government.
He reminded that the State government has allocated Rs 7,000 crore for the agriculture sector against the backdrop of the entire country is facing a crisis due to the Covid-19.
It shows the strong resolve and commitment to make agriculture profitable for farmers and making Telangana known as the only State giving top priority to the agriculture sector in the country, he added.
Niranjan Reddy said that the policies that are rolled out under the leadership of CM KCR have brought revolutionary changes in the State's agriculture sector. It would further bring a bright future to the sector with the implementation of the regulated Agriculture Policy of the State government, he said.
