Telangana State got no additional rupee in last six Union budgets: KTR
Hyderabad: TRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday alleged that not even a single additional rupee was given to the State by the Centre in the last six budgets.
The TRS leader was addressing an event where several Forward Block corporators led by Ganesh Gupta from Shamshabad municipality joined the party at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday.
The TRS leader said that the Telangana BJP president talks big but fails to get anything from the Centre. "We told Laxman, if you want to win hearts of the people in Telangana you should get something for the State. Get national project status to Kaleshwaram.
They did not give a single rupee additional from what the State should get as its right," said KTR.
He said that the government wanted industrial corridor between Hyderabad and Bengaluru but the Centre did not allocate it to the State. NITI Aayog recommended funds for projects like Mission Bhagiratha but the Centre failed to give even a single rupee, he alleged.
The TRS leader criticised the Congress and BJP for compromising their ideology and colluding in the municipal elections. He also said that BJP winning four seats in the State was just a fluke and there was no support to the party at the ground level.
The BJP had no candidates to field in about 1,200 wards. The TRS won highest number of wards and the second place was taken by independents or TRS rebels.
KTR said that Congress promised 50 per cent seats to BCs but people believed and voted TRS. The TRS did not promise but gave 45 per cent posts to BCs, and 57 per cent posts to women.
The TRS leader assured development in Shamshabad Municipality by bringing in industries and providing employment to the youth.
