Telangana State Taxi and drivers JAC calls off strike after talks with Governor
Hyderabad: Telangana State governor invited Telangana State Taxi and Drivers Joint Action Committee (TSTD JAC) for talks to call off the strike call given by TSTD JAC on Saturday. JAC members met Governor at Raj Bhavan on Saturday late night. In a fruitful meeting, JAC called off their strike after Governor promised to resolve their demands through the proper channel through government officials.
TSTD JAC called for a strike eventuating approximately above 50,000 cabs went off the road on Saturday all over the state. People of different section got to face woes lack of cabs, as already RTC employees are in a strike for over 14 consecutive days. Especially travellers at RGI Airport faced chaos due to meagre cabs available, which were only limited to the senior citizens, said Shaik Salauddin, TSTD JAC, chairman.
However, 50,000 cabs drove on saturday, but people in the State, particularly in the Hyderabad City, faced tough time over travelling lack of cabs. Shaik Salauddin asserted that "We completely believe in the Governor's word and called off our strike and cabs of all The organisations consisting Uber, Ola and IT companies runs as usual from intervening Sunday". He also added no Government official has approached or even thought about resolving our demands, apart from Governor.
