Telangana to pass anti-CAA resolution in assembly tomorrow

The Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will pass a resolution against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) after a discussion on budget, said minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy. Even the Congress and AIMIM parties have agreed to go by the government stand.

The legislators can express their opinions after the chief minister passes the resolution, he said.

Earlier, the chief minister held a cabinet meeting and decided to pass the anti-CAA resolution in the assembly after states like Kerala, Punjab, Rajasthan and West Bengal passed it. The state cabinet had also appealed to the centre not to show discrimination on the basis of religion and urged that all the religions should be treated equally before the law.

The assembly session in Telangana will be held till March 20 and it was announced on Friday by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC)
