The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) to resume its services to the neighbouring state Andhra Pradesh and other states soon. On the directions of the Telangana government to hold discussions with the neighbouring state, the TSRTC officials and APSRTC held a meeting in Vijayawada and decided to resume the bus inter-state bus services.

It is learned that the APSRTC proposed to run 256 buses in the first phase and enhance it gradually depending on the demand. However, a confirmation is yet to be made on the number of inter-state services to be operated after another discussion with the officials of APSRTC which will be held in Hyderabad soon.

The APSRTC used to run around 900 buses to Telangana before the lockdown and TSRTC used to operate 700 buses to Andhra Pradesh from Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station.

However, the buses are likely to be run between Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Nellore, Ongole, Tirupati, Eluru, Rajahmundry and Kurnool.

The inter-state bus services have been suspended in March with the announcement of complete lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. Even though TSRTC resumed the bus services from Hyderabad to other districts in the State from May 19, it has not resumed services in the Greater Hyderabad Zone and the inter-State services.
