COVID-19 tests in Telangana will be resumed tomorrow, as the backlog of the tests has been cleared. Around the clock testing centres will be available for the patients at the government hospital in King Koti besides other designated Government hospitals in the city.

Speaking to media on Monday, Health minister Eatala Rajender said that special COVID-19 testing centres have been arranged and tests will be resumed from tomorrow. A large scale of swab sample collection will be taken up across the state and the treatment as per ICMR guidelines will be given to those in home isolation. "Asymptomatic coronavirus patients are being placed under home isolation and those with symptoms are being shifted to hospitals," the minister said.

The minister also directed the private hospitals not to admit asymptomatic patients.

"People who have suspicion over being infected with coronavirus can give their samples for testing at King Koti hospital, Fever Hospital and Osmania Hospital. If the samples are positive, depending on the patient's health condition, they will be provided treatment either in the hospital or will be kept in home isolation," Rajender said.

"Although the disease is contagious, people are recovering from it. However, elderly people with pre-existing medical conditions to be cautious," the minister added.
