Telangana: Woman kills daughter and commits suicide in Wanaparthy

A 35-year-old woman stabbed her eight-year-old daughter to death and then committed suicide late on Sunday night in Kothakota mandal of Wanaparthy.

According to the police, Nirmala was staying at her parents' home along with her daughter after her husband's death two years ago. On Saturday, she went to her in-laws home at Palem to celebrate Ugadi. However, the duo was found dead by the family members on Monday morning.

It is learned that Nirmala stabbed her daughter on Sunday night and after confirming her death, she consumed poison. The family members found both lying unconscious and shifted them to a hospital. While Sindhu was declared brought dead, Nirmala died while undergoing treatment.

The police registered a case and are investigating. The reason for the suicide is yet to be ascertained.
