Telangana's Old Secretariat building to be demolished in July
Following green signal from the High Court, Telangana Government has decided to take immediate measures to vacate whatever equipment including servers and other belongings which were still in the old secretariat buildings. Officials visited the old Secretariat and supervised the process of vacating all the buildings. They have also locked the gates of the Secretariat and the Special Protection Force has been withdrawn.
Instructions have been issued not to allow anyone inside the old secretariat from Tuesday. The government wants to demolish the building in July and clear debris by July end. It also wants to start the construction of the new building in August. It may be recalled that the foundation for the new building was laid by the Government last year.
Officials are holding talks with experts to adopt the latest technology to demolish the secretariat buildings including the heritage buildings without causing any inconvenience to anyone, sources said.
