A mother's love is unconditional and nobody loves a child as much as a mother. So when news of her only son's death reached her, she had mixed emotions. Colonel Santosh Babu from Suryapet laid down his life for the country in the Sino-Indian clashes at the Galwan Valley. Col. Santosh Babu was among the 20 soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country over the escalating border issue with China.

The Indian Army confirmed that the provocation first came from the Chinese troops leading to the loss of precious lives which could have been avoided.

The entire family was crestfallen upon hearing the news as Colonel Santosh Babu who's survived by his wife and two kids was expecting a promotion to Hyderabad in the near future before he laid down his life for the country.

Col. Santosh Babu, the Telangana soldier's talli (mother) said even though she was heartbroken over losing her only son, she was very proud of his sacrifice and felt the pride of his son having achieved martyrdom.

Meanwhile, the violent clashes between Indian Army personnel and the Chinese troops at the Galwan Valley continues even as military talks to de-escalate the India-China border tension over Eastern Ladakh continues. Defence minister Rajnath Singh has reiterated time and again that India would resolve the crisis with China amicably and even refused the intervention of American President Donald Trump.
