TET exam fee hike sparks outcry; SFI urges reduction
Hyderabad: “As the State government plans to hike the examination fee for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to Rs 1,000 per paper, members of the Telangana State Committee of the Students Federation of India (SFI) demanded that the State government reduce the examination fee.”
According to SFI members, the fee for the TET exam was Rs 200 from 2011 to 2021. It was increased to Rs 300 in 2022 and Rs 400 in 2023. However,
the sudden increase of Rs 1,000 for the TET exam this year is not justified.
Many underprivileged students are preparing for TET by enduring numerous hardships, including taking coaching classes. Increasing the fee in the name of online examinations imposes a significant financial burden on many eligible candidates. Therefore, it would be better if the State government reduces the fee.
