Three held for spreading fake news over Covid-19 in Telangana
Hyderabad: In the amidst of Covid-19 gripping its fear across Telangana, the fake news circulating on social media is creating more panic among the people. So far, the state has recorded only four Covid-19 cases in which one got completely recovered, and three others are receiving treatment at isolation ward at Gandhi hospital.
Recently, during the press meet, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao warned over the posting of fake news on social media regarding Covid-19 that government would take strict actions against them. Even, the police also warned over this issue, but still, some people continued to post fake news on social media, which creates unnecessary panic among the people.
In this context, the Telangana police arrested three persons from Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district for posting fake news on social media regarding the spread on Covid-19.
The police have held two people, who created fake news and a WhatsApp admin for posting the news in the groups. They made a morphed picture of a person lying on the bed in Gandhi hospital and said he died with Covid-19 and was shifted to Yadadri.
