Nagarkurnool: TPCC working president Revanth Reddy slammed the TRS government in the State and BJP government at the Centre and asked the people of Amrabad and Achampet mandals to tie those who come for the uranium mining to trees and beat them away with sticks and bricks and protect their own lands from the encroachers.

The Congress working president also asked the tribals of Nallamalla forest to form 'Doddu Karra' Sangam and advised them to beat those who come on to their lands with sticks and chase them away as they have done to the Razakars during Nizam rule.

He urged the people of Amrabad and surrounding villages not to allow destroying their lands and ecology of the serene Nallamalla region. "The BJP at the Centre and TRS government in the state are hand in glove with each other. Before elections they never spoke about the uranium mining, however, after coming to power, they are now talking about mining of uranium in the Nallamalla forest region.

These two parties are following anti-poor policies and anti-tribal policies, now people have realised their true colours." People must boycott the TRS leaders and BJP leaders and teach them a lesion," said Revanth while addressing the people at Ambedkar chowk in Amrabad mandal on Saturday.

He alleged that Guvvala Balaraj, the Achampet MLA, who has signed permit for the Uranium mining in the region is the first culprit, TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar is the second culprit and Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, will be the third culprit as they allowed to destroy the Nallamalla region.

Reddy said Nallamalla is home to the greatest Rajive Tiger Reserve, holding more than 1000 TMC feet of water in the Krishna River being supplied both for irrigation and drinking purposes of more than 10 crore population in the State.

If the State and central governments allow uranium mining they will be responsible for the destruction of more than 1 crore living species both flora and fauna in the region. He exhorted to the people to be alert and if any one who dares to encroach on their lands in the name of mining, then burry them in the same pit dug for mining.
