Tik-Tok effect: Fearing arrest by police, youth ends life

Hyderabad: Tik-Tok acquainted a boy from SR Nagar and girl from Kurnool. Later their acquaintance turned into love and furtherance made 24-year-old youngster to commit suicide at his residence under SR Nagar police station limits on Saturday.

According to police, Sai (24), and a girl hailing from Kurnool district got acquainted through a social media application (Tik-Tok). They later fell into love.

Furtherance, Sai collected a gold chain from the girl and never returned back to her. When the girl informed her family members, they lodged a complaint with local police in Kurnool.

On coming to know that a complaint has been lodged against him. Sai got panicked over the arrest by police and on Saturday he committed suicide by hanging from ceiling fan at his residence in Netajinagar.

On receipt of the information, police registered a case and took up investigation. SR Nagar police however stressed that there is no confirmation whether Kurnool police contacted the deceased or not.
