Tipplers rush to stock up liquor fearing of lockdown in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: With the government gearing up to announce lockdown in Hyderabad, tipplers rush to shops to stock up liquor as they don't want to suffer from the withdrawal syndromes.
It may be recalled that many liquor lovers turned up at the Mental Hospital in Erragadda with the alcohol withdrawal symptoms. And this time, as the government announced the possibility of lockdown again, the liquor shops are witnessing long queues.
Even the liquor shop owners stated that the demand for the liquor has been increased compared to the last few weeks as the government was planning to impose another lockdown. The shop owners are also getting more stock from the Telangana State Beverages Corporation Limited (TSBCL) depots to meet the customers' demand.
Most of the shops are witnessing the sales after 7 pm in the state. If the lockdown is imposed, all the shops and establishments except hospitals and pharmacies will be closed. The wine shops were closed on March 25 when the government announced the lockdown and were re-opened on May 6.
