Hyderabad: The TSRTC Jathiya Mazdoor Union (TJMU) has called for a series of protests demanding that the State government merge the corporation with government on the lines of Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing a press conference here, TJMU general secretary K Hanumanthu said the workers would take up dharna in front of all the depots on June 24 and later take up one day dharna at Indira Park.

The TJMU union leader said they would take up 'Chaitanya yatra' from first week of July.

Hanumanthu said his union would exert pressure on the management to procure new buses.

Stating that the TJMU's victory was certain in the trade union elections, Hanumanthu alleged that the TMU had neglected the problems of the workers and was doing gimmicks keeping an eye on the elections.

The Employees Union had not done anything even after workers were dying because of the workload.

He promised the workers of providing DA for every six months if it wins the elections apart from decreasing workload.

He demanded that the government merge the RTC with government on the lines of Andhra Pradesh government.
