TJS chief flays govt's nod for survey in Nallamalla
Nagarkurnool: Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) president Professor Kodandaram calling out the State government's double standards said that the government is fooling the public in Uranium mining in Nallamalla forest region issue. The TJS chief alleged that the government gave permission for the conduct of survey in the forest region.
While taking part in a programme at Achampet mandal in Nagarkurnool district on Wednesday, the TJS chief questioned the State government's double standards and said why should the government give permission to the Uranium Authority of India (UAI) officials when it is really not willing to allow mining in the region, Kodandaram asked.
"We are having doubts about the intention of the State government. In fact, with our continuous agitation we could achieve one step success to press the government to come out with an assembly resolution; however, we will not rest with it.
We will fight till the end and we are demanding that the government immediately cancel all the permissions given to the UAI to conduct survey in the forest area. When they are sincere and do not want to destroy the Nallamalla forest region they must immediately cancel all the permissions for Uranium mining in the region," Kodandaram said.
The TJS chief vowed to stand by the people of Nallamalla forest region and said he would fight for the people of the region and restore their rights to live in the region safely.
