TJS chief, JAC president visits BJP office to discuss RTC strike
Hyderabad: Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) President Prof. M. Kodandaram visited the headquarters of Telangana BJP at Nampally on Friday to discuss the strategy to be adopted to intensify agitation over RTC issue with State BJP President Dr. K. Lakshman.
Speaking to media persons later, Kodandaram said that his meeting with Dr. Lakshman was not of any political significance. However, he said that he had met the BJP chief to discuss the RTC issue. He said there was a need for unity and better coordination among all opposition parties to fight against the State Government's illegal decision to dismiss more than 48,000 RTC employees. He said that the government would be forced to withdraw its decision if all political parties join hands. He said common people were of more importance than the politics and therefore, everyone must support the RTC JAC in their agitation.
Meanwhile, RTC JAC Convener Ashwathama Reddy, along with a delegation, also met Dr. Lakshman at BJP office and thanked him for the support extended by BJP to employees' agitation. He informed that the RTC employees would organise a silent protest at all depots on Saturday. He said so far, four employees have died of a heart attack due to their illegal dismissal by the government. He expressed confidence that the court would do justice with RTC employees.
