Toilet facility must in house plan for getting nod: CM KCR
Hyderabad: Aiming to make Telangana an open defecation-free state, the State government is planning to put a condition that the house plan should have toilet facility before it is given permission.
At a review on Palle Pragathi programme here, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said that as on date many villages have cent per cent toilets, and other villages should also have toilets cent per cent.
He desired that the programme, which was changing the topography of the village for good, should go forward with the same spirit. The CM said that the aims fixed under the programme have all been realised and in some villages where the programme has not reached target should be completed immediately. He wanted every MLA to take a special interest and review the works under the Palle Pragathi programme.
"The State is matching grants with that of the Central Finance Commission for gram panchayats," the CM said, adding that even during the corona pandemic, the State released the required funds to the panchayats cost cutting at a different place.
"There is no dearth of funds for the panchayats. The government has decided to create common dumping yard in all villages and land for the purpose is identified in 12,734 villages and works are going on. Construction at some other places will begin soon. The government is planning to have Vaikunta Dhamas (graveyard) in every village. Construction is taking place in 12,738 villages. In the coming two or three months, all the Vaikunta Dhamas should come into use," the CM said.
