Town beautification works to resume

Vikarabad: District Collector Ayesha Masrat Khanam directed officials to resume beautification works of the district headquarters, which have been stalled due to dearth of funds. A review meeting was held on development of municipality here on Friday. MLA Dr M Anand was the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said the drinking water under the scheme Mission Bhagiratha was being supplied for every three days in the town. After completing the one and a half kilo meter of pipeline, the supply will be regular, she said. The Collector ordered the officials to complete the construction works of CC roads, underground drainage etc., as part of the beatification.

The Collector emphasised on the maintenance of neat and clean in newly formed wards and in the entire municipality. The parks should get a facelift, repairs be done on war foot and saplings to be planted in the parks to ensure greenery.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Dr Anand told the officials to identify illegal constructions in the town and take necessary action. He suggested that the officials behave friendly with people. He promised that he would get funds from the government for the development of the municipality.
