Traders told to discourage use of plastic in Khammam

Khammam: Khammam Collector RV Karnan appealed to everyone to strive for making Khammam a plastic-free town. Speaking at a meeting held with traders, senior citizens and various organisations at the Khammam municipal corporation office meeting hall on Tuesday, the Collector informed that awareness camps to make Khammam a plastic-free town would be conducted in all areas of the town. He said every shop owner must display boards discouraging the use of plastic.

Later, the Collector Karnan flagged off an vehicle that would visit various areas and educate people on seasonal diseases. He directed the municipal officials to conduct mosquito fogging in all colonies immediately. Trainee Collector Adarsh Surabhi, Khammam Municipal Corporation Commissioner J Srinivas Rao and the heads of all departments attended the programme.
