Traffic cops getting more speed guns

Necklace Road: People who drive their vehicles exceeding the speed limit should be more careful from onwards. The Hyderabad Traffic police are armed with advanced technology traffic speed guns which will be put to use within the next 10-15 days. Policemen are getting trained by the trainers at the Necklace Road area. Ganm India Impex Company is the manufacturer of these movable devices which works under laser technology.

"These laser speed guns with advanced technology are used to capture pictures those who violate the speed limits of the area. It can capture pictures of even high speed vehicle, which are visible on a tablet with the help of hotspot connectivity and then the challan is issued to the vehicle owner," says Rajan, the chairman of Ganm India Impex, Delhi.

"We are here to explain the usage of these devices to the policemen. It is easy to understand and use. It's a two-day programme where the practical knowledge about the device is given. Each gun costs up to Rs 6.5 lakh," says Madhu, Manager of Ganm India Impex, AP and TS.

"There are already 21 speed guns under use in Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda regions. Now additionally, another 30 devices are brought for regular use. We are going to expand the treatment all over Telangana," says Balu R, Circle Inspector of Traffic Vertical of Telangana.

He further added, "Already awareness programmes are started in the areas where these are going to be used and it will under practice within 10-15 days. The main motto in using this device is to reduce accident percentage but not to issue challans."

"It will be very useful to control the speed of the youngsters specially those who are with vehicles with high cc but in some areas like Necklace road, speed limit is 40km/h. I think they should be increased a bit," says Praveena, fashion designing practitioner.
