Train mishap : Six injured shifted to Care Hospital from OGH

Hyderabad: Six patients including the loco pilot L Chandrashekar, who suffered major injuries in the train collision, are being treated at Care Hospital, Nampally.

Also, those undergoing treatment at OGH since Monday opted for discharge on LAMA (Left Against Medical Advice) reasons, according to Osmania doctors. It is learnt that Railway authorities shifted them to the corporate hospital.

While the loco pilot's condition continues to be critical, five new patients were admitted to Care Hospital for treatment and the hospital authorities released a medical bulletin updating on their health condition.

Lecturer Shekar, 36, who suffered major injuries and was undergoing treatment in OGH on Monday was shifted to the corporate hospital and was operated on. He underwent surgery by a team of orthopaedic surgeons on Tuesday and he is recovering in post operative unit.

Also operated was Raj Kumar, 35, who came with fracture right distal tibia and he underwent surgery on Tuesday by a team of orthopedic surgeons and he is recovering in the postoperative unit.

Mohd Ibrahim Ali, 32, came with soft tissue injury and he is known to have a seizure disorder and is kept under observation.

Saajid Abdur Rasheed Shaik, 45, was brought with pan facial fractures and mid-face edema. Maxilofacial surgery department is considering surgery for him.

Another patient P Baleshwaramma, 55, came with fractured left ankle and doctors are planning for surgery on November 14 after her condition stabilises. A five-year-old baby Sushmita (5) was brought to the hospital by her parents and she had soft tissue injuries. She was treated in OPD, doctors said.

Meanwhile, there was no injured patient at OGH after six patients including P Shekar, Raj Kumar, Ibrahim Ali, Baleshwa ramma opted for discharge, obviously to move to the corporate hospital.

It is learnt that instructions have come from higher-ups to ensure better treatment for the major injured ones for a speedy recovery and also because their treatments are likely to be covered under accidental insurance scheme of the railways.
