Transgenders burn government effigy in Nizamabad

Nizamabad: In support to the agitating RTC workers, transgenders burnt an effigy of the State government at RTC bus stand in Nizamabad city on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, transgenders community leaders Ganga, Zarina, Alaka, Akshara and Madhuri said the demands of RTC workers and their strike is justifiable. Stating that it is undemocratic to arrest RTC workers and leaders of people's unions, they alleged that the government is telling stories about RTC losses without paying the TSRTC what it owed.

They called for a fight against the government as Telangana people understood the conspiracy, which the government had plotted to privatise the RTC. Shyamala, Fatima, Kavitha, Amala, Ragini, Jyoti, CITU district general secretary Nurjahan and others were present.
