Nagarkurnool: The Lambada tribal farmers from Devula Thanda of Achampet mandal of Nagarkurnool district have alleged that the revenue officials in collusion with some real-estate mafia have indulged in illegal transfer of their lands to others' names in the records.

Realising that the names of the tribal farmers in the land records have been completely erased and in their place the revenue officials recorded some other person's name, the farmers alleged it as the handiwork of Revenue Inspector of Achampet Ramulu and the then Tahsildar Pandu, who is now working as Revenue Division Officer (RDO) of Achampet.

"Taking the advantage of our illiteracy, the revenue officials in connivance with some real estate businessmen have manipulated the revenue records. They later informed that some errors took place while correcting the land records and demand money to rectify the same. The poor farmers who are already worried over losing lands have no option but to fall in the trap of these revenue officials," said a protesting farmer.

The farmers also alleged that these officials have been even resorting to other illegal activities like sanctioning pattas for lands under c to rich businessmen and earning huge kickbacks for the illegal favour. "We are demanding the government to conduct a detailed investigation against the revenue officials who have been resorting to illegal land transfers in Achampet and its surrounding areas," said the tribal farmers.
