TRS clinches majority MPPs in erstwhile Mahbubnagar

Mahbubnagar: The TRS party in erstwhile Mahbubnagar has made a clean sweep and clinched more than 95 per cent of Mandal Parishad President (MPP) seats across the five districts of Mahbubnagar, Narayanpet, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy and Gadwal districts, during the MPP elections held on Friday.

In Mahabubnagar, TRS party bagged majority MPP seats, while the BJP grabbed the Dhanwada mandal MPP. Under Jadcherla constituency, of the four mandals, the TRS party won three MPP seats while Congress won the Midgil seat.

Similary in Wanaparthy district, TRS won 11 MPPs, the lone MPP from Veepanagandla was won by an independent candidate. In Nagarkurnool district, among all the 20 mandals, the TRS party grabbed 17 MPP seats, while Congress could win two seats. The result of remaining one seat of Nagarkurnool MPP is halted temporarily. The two seats won by Congress are of Lingal and Ambrabad mandals in Nagarkurnool, while the remaining seats were won by the TRS party.

In Narayanpet district, out of 11 mandals, TRS grabbed eight MPP seats, while BJP won two seats and Congress one.

In Gadwal, the TRS candidates were elected unanimously in five mandals. Under Kodangal constituency, out of five mandals, the TRS party bagged four MPP seats, while the Maddur seat was won by the Congress party.
