Hyderabad: About five lakh party posts await the TRS leaders as the party is in the process of forming committees in 33 districts right from the booth level to district committees.

The one-and-half-month-long membership drive taken up by the party ended on August 10 and the party leadership has asked the in charges to complete the exercise of forming committees in the districts. According to party leaders, the in charges have already started the exercise in many of the districts where the membership drive ended by July 31.

According to a senior TRS leader, there will be many posts up for grab in the districts. There will be basti committee in towns, booth level, division level, mandal level committees. Each committee would be having 15 to 33 members.

"The idea is that there should be one party leader for every 50 voters in a booth. The leader will be accessible to the voters and he would be taking responsibility of convincing the voters to choose TRS during elections," said the TRS leader. Apart from these, there will be party affiliated committees like students, trade unions, minority and others, the TRS leader said.

The party top brass has asked the leaders to ensure the committees have representations from the weaker sections. TRS working president K T Rama Rao, during the meeting of the incharges, had asked the party leaders to give 51 per cent representation to weaker sections like SC, ST, BC and minorities in the district committees.

He had asked the leaders to complete the village, mandal in rural areas and ward, division committees in the urban areas taking suggestions from the local representatives.

The TRS leader said that only active members would be given place on those committees. He said that the party would finish the formation of committees by this month end.
