Hanamkonda: The Congress accused the TRS government of adopting anti-people policies. The Congress activists, who staged a protest and burned the effigy of the State government at the Ashoka Theatre Circle here on Wednesday, said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao failed to handle the ongoing RTC strike.

Speaking to media persons, District Congress Committee (DCC) president N Rajender Reddy urged the people to take part in the Chalo Collectorate rally on November 8.

The TRS government pushed Telangana into a debt trap. When Congress had carved out the separate Telangana, the State was with surplus budget. In last six decades, the debt of Telangana was only Rs 60,000 crore but just in two and half years of TRS ruling, the debt rose to Rs 2.5 lakh crore, he said. The government was not in a position to pay the salaries on time to it employees, he added.

Initiatives such as Mission Bhagiratha and Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) have become money spinners for the ruling party leaders. Even though the work on Mission Bhagiratha and KLIP are yet to be completed, the Chief Minister claims credit for them. The TRS government is yet to fulfil its double bedroom houses, three acres land to Dalits etc.

KCR, who visited Warangal several times during his first term, has now forgotten the district, he said, stating that KCR, who promised double bedroom houses, textile park, underground drainage etc had not delivered none of them.

City Congress committee president K Srinivas Rao, Namindla Srinivas, Bathini Srinivas Rao, Takkallapalli Rammohan Rao and Youth Congress Warangal Parliament Party President Gottimukkula Sagarika Ramakanth Reddy were among others present.
