TRS leaders offer Palabhishekam to KCR's portrait

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders including Chairman of State Corporation for Disabled K Vasudeva Reddy and others poured milk over the portrait of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for enhancing the monetary benefit under Kalyana Lakshmi scheme by 25 per cent to the differently abled.

Vasudeva Reddy along with the TRS activists poured milk on the portrait of the Chief Minister near Telangana Talli statue at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday.

Vasudeva Reddy appreciated the move by the Chief Minister to increase the money from Rs 1,00,000 to Rs 1,25,145 for differently abled women. He said all the families of disabled were happy with the decision of the Chief Minister.

He recalled that the Chief Minister increased the pension of disabled from Rs 500 to Rs 1,500 after formation of Telangana and now from July onwards the over 5 lakh eligible disabled persons would be getting Rs 3,016.

The disabled are provided 5 per cent reservation in the double bedroom houses and also increased the incentive for marriage of disabled from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,00,000. He said the disabled would be with the government.
