Hyderabad: Going by the list of candidates that the Telangana Rashtra Samiti announced on Thursday for the Lok Sabha elections, party supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has made a studied attempt to balance caste equations, winnability, and political expedience.

So, he has given party tickets to seven sitting MPs and made significant changes in certain constituencies.

The party has given tickets to eight forward caste leaders and four BC leaders. The TRS chief has given tickets to B Vinod Kumar for Karimnagar, K Kavitha for Nizamabad, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy for Medak, BB Patil for Zaheerabad, G Nagesh for Adilabad, Pasunuri Dayakar for Warangal, and B Narsaiah Goud for Bhongir.

The new names announced by the party include Nama Nageswar for Khammam, Manne Srinivas Reddy for Mahbubnagar, V Narasimha Reddy for Nalgonda, G Ranjeet Reddy for Chevella and M Rajashekar Reddy for Malkajgiri, Maloth Kavitha for Mahabubabad, B Venkatesh Netakani for Peddapally, T Sai Kiran Yadav for Secunderabad, Puste Srikanth for Hyderabad and P Ramulu for the Nagarkurnool Lok Sabha constituency.

According to TRS leaders, Nama Nageswar Rao was given ticket for Khammam based on the local social equations and party situation. The party had struggled in the recently-held Assembly elections. Manne Srinivas Reddy of MSN Labs was given ticket for Mahabubnagar based on the requests of local MLAs.

The sitting MP AP Jitender Reddy has been denied ticket by the party.

Financially sound leaders were given tickets for Chevella, Malkajgiri and Nalgonda. Rajashekar Reddy is also son-in-law of Minister Ch Malla Reddy. Realtor Vemreddy Narasimha Reddy was given ticket for Nalgonda. The party leaders feel that Narasimha Reddy can give tough fight to TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy.

The party has given denied ticket to sitting MP A Sitaram Naik for Mahabubabad. Similarly, the Peddapally ticket was given to B Venkatesh Netakani, who was with Congress and joined TRS this morning. Government advisor G Vivekanand, who had been expecting ticket this time, could not get the ticket as the local MLAs are against him. They have alleged that he had worked against the party in the recent Assembly elections.

Sai Kiran Yadav was given ticket for the Secunderabad Lok Sabha because of sizeable number of Yadav votes in the segment. Sai Kiran is the son of Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav. The party has nominated Puste Srikanth, a rather unfamiliar political face, for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha segment.

The Chief Minister has decided to give MLC seat to Gutha Sukhender Reddy and Navin Rao. Navin Rao's name was doing the rounds till the last minute and finally the ticket was given to other candidates. Some of the party leaders got B-Form from the TRS chief.
