Hyderabad: After being whisked away to different resorts and hotels in Telangana and other States to avoid poaching by the opposition parties, the local body representatives of TRS are getting ready to vote in the Council elections on Friday as the party has made all efforts to make sure winning all the three seats.

The elections to three Council seats will be held on Friday. The elected representatives of local bodies would elect their candidates to the Council.

TRS organised camps for these local body representatives taking them to different resorts and hotels to make sure they are not subjected to horse-trading by the opposition parties.

According to sources, a huge contingent of about 2,500 public representatives of TRS like councillors/corporators, MPTCs and ZPTCs have been camping in different places on the city's outskirts and also outside the state.

Sources said that the leaders were taken outside of the states like Kerala and Karnataka. The party had taken care of all the necessities of the public representatives.

Sources said that the party had to spend Rs 1 lakh on each of the public representative for camping them for a period of more than 15 days. The TRS public representatives were explained about the polling process by taking up mock polling for several occasions, sources said.

There are 1,086 public representatives in the Nalgonda Local Authorities Constituency (LAC), 902 in Warangal LAC, 812 in Rangareddy LAC.

Majority of the public representatives are from the TRS and the party wants to ensure the party gets all the votes going by the history when even after having majority in Nalgonda LAC, the party had to lose against Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy during 2015 election.

This time around Komatireddy Lakshmi, who is also wife of Rajagopal Reddy, is the Congress candidate and the ruling party expect horse-trading by the main opposition.

The TRS leaders are keeping their fingers crossed that the result would be in their favour. The ministers were given responsibilities of ensuring victory of the candidate in their respective districts.

The three candidates for TRS include P Srinivas Reddy (Warangal), P Mahender Reddy (Rangareddy) and T Chinnappa Reddy (Nalgonda).

The party is sure of winning the two seats of Warangal and Rangareddy, it does not want to take any chances for the Nalgonda seat. The public representatives would be taken in a bus to the polling centres on Friday.
