TRS spending more money for CM campaign: Congress

Hyderabad: Former minister and senior Congress leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy on Wednesday alleged that the ruling party leaders were spending lakhs of rupees for holding Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's public meeting at Huzurnagar Assembly constituency.

Reddy said that they had taken up the issue to the notice of the Chief Electoral Officer of the Election Commission of India Rajat kumar and urged him to consider the amount in the election expenditure of the ruling TRS party candidate. He also alleged that ruling party candidate was spending lakhs of rupees of money for giving advertisements in a TV channel and newspaper belonging to Rao's family and added that they had urged the EC to consider it as the election expenditure of the ruling party candidate.

Speaking to media persons after meeting the CEO, he said that the Chandrashekhar Rao was scared of facing a defeat at Huzurnagar. Reddy stated that the CM should be made responsible for the suicides of the TSRTC workers. He requested the people of the State to ensure the victory of the Congress party to force the CM to work properly.

He termed the election campaign held by State ministers Mohammad Mahmood Ali and Jagadiswar Reddy at Kodad as violation of election code. He urged the EC to book a case against the ministers for violating the code.
