TRS strength in Assembly set to touch 100

Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS)will touchcentury mark with Kothagudem Congress MLA Vanama Venkateshwar Rao announcing his decision to join the ruling party soon. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Scheduled Caste Cell chairman Arepally Mohan shifted his loyalty to the TRS in the presence of party working president K T Rama Rao on Sunday.

The ruling party won 88 seats in the Assembly elections.Two independent MLAs joined the TRS. Later, several Congress MLAs declared their support to the TRS and expressed their willingness to join TRS. The Congress MLAs who declared their support to the TRS included RegaKanta Rao, Atram Sakku, B Haripriya Naik, Chirumurthy Lingaiah and P Sabita Indra Reddy, K Upender Reddy, D Sudheer Reddy and VanamaVenkateshwar Rao.

One of the two TDP legislators Sandra Venkata Veeraiah has also pledged his support to the party. With the nominated MLA, the strength of TRS in the Assembly is 100 now.Venkateshwar Rao, who met Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at his farmhouse, said the Chief Minister has a vision to promote all sections of people.

The development works in Khammam were taken up.Never before such a high number of developmental works were launched in the district. The Sitarama project, which is under construction, which would help in irrigating 10 lakh acres in Khammam and Kothagudem districts. "People have blessed KCR in the recent elections with a huge majority.

I consider this as my duty to work as per the wishes of the people. All-round development of my constituency is important for me. I have full confidence in KCR, who is concentrating on development of each and every constituency. I have decided to join TRS after consulting friends and cadre. If needed, I will resign as MLA and join the TRS soon," said Rao.

K T Rama Rao said that the strength of TRS has improved in Manakonduru constituency with the joining of Mohan. He said the party would give due respect to leaders like Mohan and others who are joining TRS. He called upon the leaders to work under the leadership of KCR. "Chief Minister KCR garu would ensure Mohan gets recognition in future. All should strive to get maximum majority in the Lok Sabha elections. We should collectively work to get more majority than the last Assembly elections," said KTR.

Mohan Said that he had joined the TRS as he was impressed with the development works taken up by the Chief Minister. "I am joining TRS to support Chief Minister, who is striving for Bangaru Telangana. People are not keen on Congress party now. I will work for the victory of TRS as a party worker in the Lok Sabha elections. Soon I will be joining along with my cadre," said Mohan.
