Hyderabad: TRS leaders on Wednesday asked the Congress leaders to appoint KVP Ramachandra Rao as the president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC).

The Rythu Samanvaya Samithi Chairman Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and MLA B Suman lashed out at the Congress party leaders for bringing KVP Ramachandra Rao to vote in Telangana. "The Congress leaders have always worked under the Andhra rulers and even now they brought the Andhra leader for voting in Telangana. The Congress leaders should make KVP as the TPCC president," said Palla Rajeshwar.

The TRS leader stated that the Rajya Sabha had released a bulletin and allotted KVP Ramachandra Rao to Andhra Pradesh along with CM Ramesh. Similarly, K Keshava Rao and T Devender Goud were allotted to Telangana, he added. The TPCC chief pressurised the Stater Election Commission (SEC) authorities to include KVP's name as ex-officio member in Nereducherla municipality. He mentioned that the Congress leaders should read the Municipal Act before questioning TRS on ex-officio members. As per chapter two and section three of the Act, MLCs and Rajya Sabha members can select a municipality within 30 days of election, he added. MLA B Suman said that the victory of the BJP in Lok Sabha election was just a fluke. "BJP chief Laxman has lost his MLA seat and also deposit. He is talking to save his post," said Suman.
