Karimnagar: Student Federation of India (SFI) district secretary Gajjela Srikanth on Monday alleged that the TRS government is trying to weaken and dissolve the government educational sector in the State. SFI members burnt an effigy of the State government at Telangana Chowk in Karimnagar, demanding that the government must solve various issues pertaining to government educational sector.

Speaking on the occasion, SFI district secretary G Srikanth alleged that thousands of students participated in the separate Telangana movement hoping that they would be provided with standard education by the government in separate State of Telangana. But after achieving Telangana, the TRS government is trying to dissolve government education sector by privatization, he alleged.

Many private and corporate educational institutions are collecting high fees from parents violating the rules issued by the education department and are looting innocent parents. On number of occasions, the issue was taken to the notice of officials of education department, but they are not in a mood to take any actions, he criticised.

The government is trying to close government schools in the name of rationalization. It is not filling vacant posts such as teachers and MEO, he added.

Demanding the government to solve all the issues pertaining to government educational sector along with filling the vacant posts, various student unions and associations with communist parties gave a call for State-wide bandh of educational institutions on July 10, he informed and urged the managements of educational institutions to cooperate and observe bandh.
