TRS will bite the dust: BJP

Update: 2019-07-22 23:48 IST

Hanamkonda: BJP national secretary PK Krishnadas said that the day is not far away when the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) suffers the same fate as the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party. Reviewing the party's membership drive here on Monday, he said that BJP has a better future in Telangana. "BJP is the only political party that can unseat the TRS government," he said.

Referring to the launch of membership drive in the State by the BJP national president and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, he said BJP is giving a lot of priority to Telangana. The BJP, which never secured one per cent votes in Tripura, is now at the helm of affairs of that State, Krishnadas said, expressing confidence that they would clinch power in Telangana in the 2023 elections.

There is a growing discontent against the TRS government among the people, he said, pointing to the results of Parliament elections where the ruling party in the State lost the ground. On the other hand, the graph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is increasing multifold due to welfare and developmental programmes initiated by the BJP government, he said. Referring to the target set by Ami Shah, he urged the leaders to achieve 18 lakh memberships in the State before August 11.

Meanwhile, the BJP Urban district unit claimed that KTR Seva Samithi president Bakki Avinash and about 200 TRS leaders including M Srikanth and Chandu have joined their party.

BJP State general secretary Mantri Srinivasulu, State Membership Pramukh M Dharma Rao, former minister Gunde Vijaya Rama Rao, senior leaders M Chandraiah, G Premender Reddy, E Rakesh Reddy, Vannala Sriramulu, Chada Srinivas Reddy, V Sammi Reddy, Dr Vijayalaxmi, G Narsaiah, R Kishan, G Yadagiri and Rao Amarender Reddy were among others present.
