TS Cabinet to brainstorm new Revenue Act soon
Hyderabad: The state Cabinet, which is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, is likely to give a final touch to the proposed new Revenue Act being brought into effect by the end of December.
It will also discuss the reorganisation of various state departments so that the requirements of the local administration in 33 districts could be met.
The Cabinet will also ratify the proposal mooted by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to take up two more mega projects, including a hydel power unit on river Godavari.
It may be recalled that KCR had announced the construction of a big barrage with 37 tmcft reserve capacity and hydel project with an installation capacity of 320 MW at Dummugudem two days ago.
Official sources said that it required Rs 20,000 crore to complete the two new projects on Godavari. The CM will explain to his Cabinet colleagues the importance of taking up the new projects and also increase the water lift capacity in the Kaleshwaram in the future.
The sources said the Chief Minister is preparing plans to strengthen the Revenue department by introducing the new Act to ensure transparency in the delivery of services to the people, particularly farming community who were facing hurdles to get title deeds and other land records on a permanent basis.
KCR will also seek the opinion of all ministers to finalise the draft Revenue Bill. He has already said a special Assembly session will be convened to adopt the new Bill soon.
The pending issue of reorganisation of all departments in the 33 new districts will also figure in the Cabinet meeting.
