TS government urged to follow AP's reverse tendering
Hyderabad: Leader of Congress Legislature Party in Assembly Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday advised the state government to follow the example of Andhra Pradesh government in reverse tendering.
Addressing the media, he said that the AP government saved about 12 per cent in the project cost and the same could be achieved in Telangana. He said that the Telangana government must establish a Judiciary Committee on the tenders.
The Congress leader said that the Telangana government has spent about Rs one lakh crores on the irrigation projects in the past five years and it is expected to spend Rs 125 lakh crores more in the future.
He said that if Telangana has followed reverse tendering it would have saved up to Rs 28,000 crores.
Vikramarka said that if reverse tendering was applied to Mission Bhagiratha, on which government spent Rs 50,000 crores, it would have saved Rs 6,000 crores.
He demanded an inquiry into the tender process. He stated that they would collect data on the tenders of the irrigation projects and would make complaint to the CBI soon.
