Hyderabad: Telangana Government on Friday issued an ordinance to amend the Telangana Lok Ayukta Act, 1983 wherein a provision has been made to appoint a retired judge of a High Court as Lok Ayukta.
"It is observed that retired Chief Justice of a High Court may not be available for appointment as the Lok Ayukta. In order to mitigate the non-availability of retired Chief Justice of a High Court for appointment as Lok Ayukta, it has been decided to amend the relevant provisions of the Act," said the ordinance.
The ordinance would be converted into an Act when the State Legislative Assembly meets next time.
