TS police book case against TDP MP, five others

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police on Thursday booked a case against TDP MP from Rajahmundary M Murali Mohan and five others for illegally transporting Rs 2 crore cash to distribute among the voters in the constituency, Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar said on Thursday.

According to him, a police team of Madhapur police station and SOT, Cyberabad, apprehended two persons Nimmaluri Sri Hari and Avuti Pandari working as office assistants at Jayabheri Properties at Nizamped on Wednesday and seized Rs 2 crore cash from their possession at Hitec City railway station.

Based on information given by them, police registered a case against another four namely Dharma Raju, Jagan Mohan Rao, M Murali Mohan (TDP MP) and Yelamanchi Murali Krishna, he added.

The CP said the arrested accused Sri Hari and A Pandari as per the instructions of Dharma Raju and Jagan Mohan Rao were carrying Rs 2 crore in two bags to hand over the same to M Murali Mohan, MP from Rajahmundry and Yelamanchi Murali Krishna of TDP to distribute the same to voters in view of Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections in Rajahmundry parliamentary constituency.

On inquiry accused Sri Hari and Pandari stated that Dharma Raju and Jagan Mohan Rao of Jayabheri Properties gave the amount at their office at plot No.1 at Jayabheri Enclave in Gachibowli and instructed them to transport the same by train to Rajahmundry.

They would be received by Yelamanchi Murali Krishna, a follower of M Murali Mohan, at Rajahmundry railway station.

In turn the money would be handed over to Murali Mohan, MP Rajahmundry. Madhapur police are investigating the case.
