TS to get additional 575 TMC of Godavari water from next June

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao stated that Telangana would get an additional 575 TMC of water from next June onwards. He stated that projects on Godavari and Krishna rivers are being expedited on priority basis.

" Through the Kaleshwaram project, the state is able to utilise 400 TMC of assured water. The government is making all-out efforts to supply water for irrigation through Seetharama and Devadula projects by next year.

I am sharing happy news that by next June, farmers in the state will get an opportunity to get an additional 575 TMC other than the existing Godavari projects water," CM said in his Independence Day speech.

Like Kaleshwaram, Palamur-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation project will also be completed on a fast track and water for irrigation will be provided to farmers in united Mahabubnagar district, Vikarabad and Rangareddy districts, he said.

The government has completed on a fast track basis all the on going projects in the erstwhile Palamur district. Through these we are able to supply water to 11.20 Lakh acres in Palamur district along with Jurala," he stated.
