TSRTC JAC takes out rally: Mancherial
Mancherial: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) union's indefinite strike continued the sixth day also. The union leaders demanded the government to fulfill their demands and warned that the strike will continue till their demands are meted out.
On Thursday, the JAC leaders took out a rally in support of the RTC workers' strike in Mancherial town and raised slogans against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and demanded that the government should merge the RTC with the government. The rally continued through the main streets in the town form bus stand to the market to Bellampalli Chowrasta. Later the workers staged a dharna in front of the RTC depot. Police rushed to the spot and arrested the protesters and shifted them to police station.
Speaking to the media, JAC leaders Mekala Dasu, Madhusudan Rao, and Lal Kumar, RTC JAC leader Shankar criticised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for not fulfilling the legal demands of RTC workers and faulted the announcement of suspending RTC employees. According to which law and constitution, the CM can remove the workers, who are on strike? they questioned. They reminded the RTC workers' participation in separate Telangana movement.
They appreciated all trade unions and JAC leaders for standing in support of the RTC workers. If the government will not fulfil the legal demands of RTC workers, they warned of intensifying the agitation.
