TSRTC MD files additional affidavit in High Court
Hyderabad: Even after TSRTC unions announced that they were willing to keep the demand of RTC merger with government in abeyance, the State government does not appear to be in a mood to re-open talks with the RTC unions.
TSRTC managing director Sunil Sharma on Saturday filed an additional affidavit in the High Court urging it to pass appropriate orders expeditiously in the larger interests of the public and restore peace and harmony in the State at the earliest.
In the affidavit, the government said the TSRTC is facing severe financial stress following the strike. The Corporation has been receiving demands of financial nature from different statutory authorities running into thousands of crores. These are compounding and complicating the situation created by the present illegal strike.
The unions of TSRTC by going on an unprecedented and continuous strike of 40 days, as of now, have compounded the financial crisis of the Corporation by destabilising the State by their strike.
The workers are also, in turn, creating problems for themselves. Even if, they are willing to resume duty voluntarily now they have made it difficult for the management of the TSRTC to take a decision for their continuance.
