Turn all villages green and clean: Collector Sri Devasena
Peddapalli: District Collector Sri Devasena appealed the villagers to participate actively in Haritha Haram programme and turn their villages into greenery. As part of Swachh Friday programme, the Collector participated in a programme in Chinnakalvala village of Sultanabad mandal in Peddapalli district on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, collector Sri Devasena urged the people to construct soak pits in the front yard of their houses to harvest every drop of rainwater and to participate in Haritha Haram programme actively to turn all the villages into greenery along with giving protection to them.
She also asked the villagers to keep the villages neat and hygienic keeping in view of the monsoon season as there is a possibility of spread of seasonal diseases. Especially women must take care of personal hygiene and must not through the waste everywhere and dump them in the prescribed areas only. She asked the villagers to observe every Friday as Swachh Friday without fail.
Later, the Collector planted saplings and appreciated those, who completed the construction works of Individual Sanitary Latrines (ISLs) and handed over saplings to them.
Meanwhile, after knowing about the Collector's visit the villagers decorated their front yards with beautiful rangoli designs.
ZPTC M Swarup Prakash Rao, DPO V Sudharsan, Tahsildar Madhusudan, MPDP G Santosh, Single Window chairman D Mohan Rao, Sarpanch Ramesh Goud and MPTC Sampath Goud were present along with others.
