TV9 former CEO V Ravi Prakash appears before Cyberabad police

Hyderabad: Former TV9 Chief Executive Officer (CEO) V Ravi Prakash on Tuesday appeared before the Cyberabad Cybercrimes wing in connection with a cheating and forgery case booked against him earlier.

Following the directions from the Supreme Court on Monday, Ravi Prakash appeared before the Investigation Officer of the Cybercrime wing. Earlier, he did not respond to the notices of Cyberabad police in which they asked him and film actor S Shivaji and former TV9 Chief Financial Officer (CFO) M V K N Murthy, to appear before the Cyberabad officials.

Except Murthy both Ravi Prakash and Shivaji did not turn up before the officials. Ravi Prakash also applied for an anticipatory bail in the High Court. When High Court rejected his bail plea he went to Supreme Court.

On Monday, after hearing the anticipatory bail petition, the Supreme Court directed him to apply once again in the High Court for anticipatory bail and opined that under 41 (A) CrPC notices he has to appear before the Cybercrime police and co-operate with the investigation officer.

The cybercrime officials recorded his statements and sought clarifications on the cases booked against him.
