Two held for illegal transport of gutka

Hyderabad: The police on Saturday arrested two persons for transporting banned gutka and tobacco products worth Rs 1.8 lakh at Bachupally crossroads. The arrested were identified as Sheik Rafeeq and Siraj.

According to the police, while police were conducting routine vehicle check at Bachupally cross road, they found a vehicle with some bags and upon checking they found banned gutka worth of Rs 1.8 lakh filled in eight bags.

Upon questioning the accused, police found that the accused were illegally transporting the contraband from Bidar of Karnataka State and selling in the area of Bachupally for the past three months.
