Two leopards sighted near NTPC in Peddapalli
Fishermen sighted two leopards on the bank of Godavari river near NTPC of the Peddapalli district on Saturday morning. The fishermen said that they found the leopards while they were going fishing and then returned back. Soon later, they alerted the forest officials.
Forest officials along with the NTPC ASI visited the place and noticed the pugmarks of the wild animal.
Forest Beat Officer Naresh said that they haven't arrived at a conclusion if they are leopard or other animals as the pugmarks noticed were unclear. However, the forest officials took the photos of the pugmarks and sent them to higher officials for further analysis.
The officials asked the people not to go near the Old filter bed of FCI until further notice.
The incident comes after the two dogs were killed by a leopard near coal mine of Godavarikhani town which left the people in a state of panic. The leopard was also noticed by a Singareni worker near 11 incline mine two days ago.
