Two officials caught taking bribe in Jangaon

Jangaon: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths trapped two officials who were taking bribe from a retired employee here on Saturday.

Ilaiah, who worked as an attendant in the SC development office in Jangaon retired from service in January last year. Since then he has been running around the office for his pension.

It is learnt that two officials of the SC development office - Gattu Mallu and office attendant Md Khadeeruddin - have been harassing him to complete the formalities.

The duo reportedly demanded Ilaiah to give them a bribe of Rs 10,000 to complete his work. Against this backdrop, Ilaiah informed the ACB officials who in turn laid a trap and caught them red-handed while accepting Rs 5000 from Ilaiah on Saturday.

ACB DSP A Madhusudhan said they arrested the accused and will produce them before the special ACB court.
