Uma Maheshwaram temple nets 4.6 lakh hundi collection in Nagarkurnool
Nagarkurnool: The Hundi counting of the famous Uma Maheshwaram temple in Rangpur village in Achampet Mandal was carried out on Thursday. The priests of the temple informed that this year they had a record collection of Rs 4.68 lakh in just five months period. Usually, the Uma Maheswaram temple receives a large number of devotees only during Shiva Ratri. During this festival, a week-long Jatara would be held inside the Nallamala forest area. However, after that, the flow of devotees and tourists decreases.
Unlike earlier, this year, the temple has witnessed a good number of devotees and because of which the Hundi chests have been filled in a big way. "In just five months, the temple has received Rs 4.68 lakh donation from devotees. This is a good collection. We urge the district administration and the Forest department officials to provide more facilities and good connectivity to the temple so those temple witnesses a continuous flow of tourists and devotees from across the country," observed a temple priest.
The temple authorities said they would utilize the hundi collection for the betterment of the temple and for providing more facilities to the devotees.
