Uncertainty over ZP staff division in Nizamabad

Update: 2019-06-27 02:35 IST

Nizamabad: The government is likely to issue an order to Nizambad Zilla Parishad employees to serve in the new Kamareddy ZP and Mandal Parishad.

Except Zilla Parishads, the government has transferred the employees of various government departments after new districts formed in the State. The employees, who received orders, were told to work from the area to which they were transferred. But the transfer of employees of ZP is stalled as the new ZPs will come assume office from July 5.

Kamareddy district was carved out of Nizamabad district. The Panchayat Raj department chiefs are looking into the division of employees and relieve them along with the furniture to Kamareddy district. The authorities concerned have already collected the details of employees and will transfer them with orders to serve.

However, there is still ambiguity over the transferring power. Initially, the Nizamabad District Collector MRM Rao was given a verbal order, empowering him to transfer the employees. But rumours are making rounds that this power may be given to Panchayati Raj Commissioner but there is nothing official about this yet.

It's learned that during the reorganisation of the districts, the employees of all government departments were divided based on population. The employees thought that ZP and Mandal Parishad staff will be divided similarly. But, according to sources, the government is planning to allocate employees on the basis of number of mandals. If this is true, then Nizamabad, which has 29 mandals, is likely to have more number of employees and Kamareddy with a minimum of 22 mandals is likely to get less staff.

Without clarity about the transfers, the employees working in the joint Nizamabad district are waiting for the final orders of the government.

Discussions are going on whether the government will transfer senior staff or those with less job experience. With the possibility of transferring ZP employees with an order to serve, some employees are trying to get transfer to their preferred locations. While some others are appealing to the political leaders to stop their transfer, so as to stay in Nizamabad only.
